Summer Learning Journey - Week 1 - Day 1 - Activity 2

My Voyage - On one of the weeks I came acoss an waka, an special boat from Maori. I travel across the sea with the waka and went to NZ. After that I feel like I was at home on NZ. There was so many people in NZ. NZ is an awesome country first visited by Abel Tasman. NZ is one of my favorite countries because its mostly peaceful here.

Summer Learning Journey 2017 - Week 1 - Maui

This week I learned some facts I never knew about Maui on a website that holds many Maori myths and legends.
1. Maui is an trickster.
2. Maui is also an great fishermen.
3. Maui's brothers dont like going fishing with him because they think he is too young to go fishing.

This week I went ahead and played more tables conga! This is an free, fun, maths game were you reach the tens on your number. For example your on 4 times tables, and you get to 40 to finish the game. I beated all the times tables, think you can do that? Play now!

Badminton week 9

This week in badminton we learned a new little skill. It was an show off skill I would say. In this skill you put the shuttle on your bracket, then spin and not make it fall. After that skill we played 2 games that was from badminton, first we played 1v1 badminton which is a solo fight, but you score 1 point you win the other gets off then someone else gets on the court. Then 2v2 badminton which is the same as the 1v1 badminton but you go in partners then score 2 goals to win. I think that is all we did in badminton but it was all fun!

Keyboarding Drill 4

This week I practiced my typing skills first. Look at screen, not the keyboard, then type.

News Report

In this must do we are supposed to do both our slides for our news that acctully happened recently. This was an easy task cause we had to write about a news that tells what happened recently, were not allowed to copy and paste though. In recording we have to take turns on slides to copy what you wrote on the slides.

Thats My Money

LI - To manage and profit.

This week I did some maths so I can get fake money for my bank account thats not read also. My stress goal was getting to 100$ Dollers. My high score for money was 127.50$ but then the rents runined it. I tried my best but I had other must do's to do that are way more important than this maths.

Our Local Community : Food Services loss

LI: To make generalisations about the impact of a group in our community.

In this must make our script on what would happen and what would we do when a part of our local community is lost. We are also supposed to vlog along with the script. In our script we also put some parts about what we do and things that would happen about the subjects in our local community.

Making a origami samurai helmet (EDIT)

I have edited alot on this cause of the mistakes on it. I have edited on every slide to make the recound better and fix my mistakes. We also had to blog again I dont know why. This was an easy task to do also.

Kiwi Can

In Kiwi Can week 8 we played lots of fun games. I have forgotten the names of the games. The 1st game we played was an game were you have to run away from a team that tags with balls. They cant throw the balls though. They have to pass the ball to there team to get the people on the other team. The second game was an defend an attack game. We have to get towers with a ball by throwing it at a ball thats not on your team and defend your tower and not let the ball destroy the tower. I think that was all we did in kiwi can so bye.

Kiwi Sport

In kiwi sport we probably did the same thing but on the back hand side. After practicing doing that we did an 1v1 game were you score one point you win and the winner stays on then the losers gets off and wait in the line. Then we did an 2v2 game were your its kinda the same as the 1v1 game but you have to score 2 points.

LI To classify personal relationships

This week's task we are supposed to find 3 roles in our local community to know about and find facts about. We also have to find their main goal.  This was a hard task for me because some of the facts were so long so I had to shorten them by using my own words not copy and paste.

Keyboarding drills 4

This week I practiced my typing skills without looking at my keyboard. This is easy since you just need to practice your typing skills. Look at screen. Type with your hand not your eyes.

What did I learn : I learned some things that happened recently in news.

Making an origami samurai helmet [Recount]

LI: to write a recount about making origami cranes.

The activity I did was making an origami samurai helmet. A samurai is an japaneese soilder with a sword from the old days. It would be hard if Mr. Wong did not tell us how to make the origami. In every recount we are learning to use past tenths. Past tenths are words that explain that we did something in the past for example, "Sat" is an word for sit but its in past tenths, but "Sit" would say that something or someone is still sitting on something.

That's My Money

LI: To manage finances and profit.

In this task we are supposed to manage profit like money. This is kinda like a game I played before. We have to do earn money by doing math tasks like prototec or make some DLO's. You can also make money by making maths problems on a "Daily Basic Facts" but you have to make both the answer sheet and the sheet were people have to answer it.

Bean Bags

LI: to use past tense to show something has happened.

The activity we did in this recount is a bean bag game, you need groups or people or you can practice by your self. The hool-a-hoop in the middle gives 2 and the outside gives 1. We have to practice intresting words and try not using the boring words.

Royal Family

LI - To learn about the royal family and its history.

I learned so many things about this family, its also really well known and famous! In this session we are sopposed to get in group of 4 boys and 2 girls. We also have a family tree of this royal family. It was a really fun thing to learn, the royal family tree has been growing so much. Theres no family members in the family tree.

Survey / Test

LI: to compare and contrast a probability test with a statistical survey.

In this must do we have to ask everybody including the teachers. Our survey is for maths, probability is like factions buts its percentage. My survey is just picking a number between 1-6. When we finish that we have to do our test, which is probability test. We need to get a dice that has the same amount you picked for the survey.

Kiwi Sports

In kiwi sports we learned more things. We only learned holding the shuttle as a cup and doing the back hand start. Then we did the same thing from week 3. All the activities are fun. We also did our game from last week, the 2 v 2 game.

Past Tense

LI: to use past tense to show something has happened.

Session 1.

What did I learn - I learned how to use words that tell us we did in the past.

How did I learn - We had to work by ourselves to do this work. We have to use words that tell us the past. for example, dug is another word for dig but dug is a word that tell it happened in the past.

Fire Station

This week, our class got to visit the fire station. We learned important and cool facts about the fire station. 4 lucky people from our class got to have a go on using the hoe. This was a fun experience. It was an hot sunny day when we got to the fire station. We learned so many important information about this trip.

Can do

This week I played a game on the can do list its called "Free Rice". There are 2 versions of this game. The first one is just which sentence is correct. And the second one is finding words that have same meanings of words.

Kiwi Sport

In this season we learned how to start a badminton game by doing a back hand grid. Then we got into 2v2 games. We did not have enough nets so we had to put a waiting spot beside each net. Our teachers name is  named Kevin, our badminton teacher.

Keyboard drills 3

This is an easy must do since you have to copy the words and put it under the box. This week I did keyboard drills first. This is like touch keyboard. You have to not look at your keyboard while copying the words.

Recount Planner (Juggling Balls)

LI: to evaluate the structure of a recount written by ourselves.

This week we learned how to juggle three balls. We had to make a recount of it. This is our TREE planning. What does TREE stand for you ask? The T in the TREE means title. R stands for reaveal. And the the 2 E's. The first one stands for events and the last E stands for ending. This was a east task but juggling the balls was not easy. We had to go in partners to do this must do.

Police Visit

This week on thursday we got a visit from the police! This was an exciting fun event cause we never saw a helicopter land next to us. They tell us special things that polices have. It was a hot day when they came. This event would be better than the others. They told things that polices dogs do and what polices in helicopters do!

Kiwi Can

In Kiwi Can we went to the hall for games that required respect. The first game we played was 'Horse, Knights, and gentalmans'. The game was just like simon says but with only five commands. The second game was 'Vocanoes and Valleys'. A team has to flip cones upside down and the other team has to flip the cones what angle its sopposed to be at. Our team won once. The other team won once also.

Synthesising

We had to continue on our same reading stratagy we did on week 4. This was a kinda hard task cause I did not know what synthesising means but then I had some help so now I understand.

Raz-Kids

This book was really cool to read. The book talks about a ship that has sunkin and ships people thought that wont be sunkin. If you have raz-kids or have a book at the libary like this you should read this if your really generous to read! I can not give a link to it because some people might not be signed up to see this, sorry!

Kiwi Sport

In kiwi sport we are still learning with Kevin about badminton. We got to go in partners and then do some partner things to do. First we had to practice our balance for our badminton then second we played a normal badminton but we have to aim better and without a net to get over. All the activity in this season was fun.

Synthesising

LI - To use a range of comprehension strategies to go deeper into a text

What did I learn - I learned what the meaning of synthesising is and some examples of it.

How did I learn - People have to pick a reading stratagy to talk about that still have some space, then make a google slide and write about the things about it.

Can do (Free Rice)

This was an fun can do! In this can do you have to answer questions to get rice. You have to get the most rice. This is an non-stop game just like a endless runner but with no runner. All the questions are about writing sentences.

Keyboarding Drills

In this must do task we are sopposed do our touch typing by not looking at our keyboard and just copying the words we are sopposed to. This is an easy task everyone can beat.

Events section

LI - to write an “events” section for a recount.

In this task we mostly focused on events for our writing must do. An event section is what happened in the time. The activity we did was for our stick game, it was an really fun game to be honest. We needed all the infomation on the events from the game we did.

Professionals

In this must do we are sopposed to explain some things about a professional. Me and Angela did Pilots and Business. We write facts down and links to some website that explain what our professional do. This task was not really easy because we had to find links and facts for the professionals.

Wheel Decide

The first random picker is for "What game on ROBLOX should I play today? (1/5). Which colour is better? (1/10). The third wheel is Which is better? (1/6, 2/6 3/6). These were just for learning. The purpose of this learning is about chance or choice. This was a easy task to do.

Kiwi Sports

This week in kiwi sport we did badminton again but with new things to do in it. The activities in this season was all easy. People were required to go in partners to do this activity. My partner was Karlos he was good at badminton. We only had 2 things to do in the activity. The first one was someone has to throw a shuttle at there partner so they can hit it and the person who threw the shuttle has to catch it from the other partner. The second one is we just go normal badminton. That is all we did in badminton so have a great day!

This must do was the easiest this week cause all I had to do was play a stick game and write notes about it. This was also a fun must do for everyone.

What I learned - Some new facts and infomation about life guards and search and rescue from different websites and different books.

How I learned - People have to go in a group of 6 to partner up with 1 person the the group to talk different emergency services.

Kiwi Can T4 W3

This week in Kiwi Can we learned respect on coperative games that give us respect because we have to listen to somone who is making a plan. The first game we played was "Tangled" I think cause we have to tangle each other and try and get untangled to people. The second game was a sports game called one down. In One Down we have to get in teams and try to get 5 points by passing at people. That is all we did at kiwi can so have a great day!

LI - To find and name the NZ locations in Maori and english

This was an easy task since all we needed to do is go on google map and find the names in moari. This was an fun task so if you want to have a challenge you can probaly do it on my opinion I think. Everyone found this is easy so the problem is that its easy so people can get distracted.

Kiwi sports

This week on kiwi sports we learned how to badminton. It was a new thing I wanted to try. The activites were really hard so I kept losing and only had 15 hits with the badmintion without failing. Some of the activities were so easy everyone beated it. We also learned how to do trick Shots with the badminton. Some of us suceeded to do the trick shots, It was kinda easy! Our teacher for kiwi sports of Kevin and I think hes cool being a badminton pro!

Add/Sub different denominaters

LI: to add and subtract fractions of the same unit size.

What I learned - I learned how to use add/sub denominaters in fractions.
How I learned - We had to add/sub denominaters on our document file so we can learn how to do denominaters.

This week I played Tables Conga in 4 times tables. This is an easy maths games where you have to run away from conga viruses. You can play this game its a F2P game no microtranactions just a game.

Recount Writing (Dancing through the decade) EDITED

LI - To edit some writing in the "Dancing through the decade" recount.

What did I learn? I learned some new things about making a recount you need almost all the detail in the thing your talking.

How did I learn? I had to go back in my folder and edit my recount to fix some mistakes and some writing.

What did I learn? I learned some good examples that Jordan had done for us to also copy. And I learned some vital ideas for resilience.

How did I learn? I had to read a PDF file that talks about resilience and examples of it to copy. We had to make some infomations about the resilience.

What I learned - I learned how to make an recount and how it works, It was easy.

How I learned - We had to make a recount talking about our show called "Dancing Through The Decade's" that we did on term 3, we needed to do our planning first though.

Local Community Roles

LI - To type in roles in the local community that you seen once and everyday also sometimes.
What did I learned - I learned some roles in the local community and roles that are not in the NZ community.
How I learned - We had to make a diagram the inner circle shows us the people that we usally see everyday and a second circle we type in people not everyday but mostly sometimes. And the outer circle shows us the roles that we seen once or twice or more we dont see usally.

How I learned - We had to read a online PDFF file so we can find infomation to make our slides. We had to do different tasks in a group.

This week in reading we did our flip grid for our reading task. This was the easiest 1 because we just had to make our speech and record it for our video or flipgrid. We massed up sometimes buts its ok everyone has made mistakes!

This week I played Tables Conga but in 8 times tables. This was 98.99% easy. This is an great fun maths games that any one can play. Even if your on tablet! I suggest you to play this fun maths game. If you can beat the game well then your a smarty! Its really easy to win anyways but you can test your maths skills in this game if you liked to.

Kiwi Can (Week 10)

This week in kiwi can we got to play games that I forgot the names are because I always have short memory about the names of people and games, well some. We got to play outside for games that are ment to be outside, this was our last kiwi can season for this term because its the end of the term. These games were fun and I can still tell you the instructions to the game. The first game was the same game we played on week 5 or 4 I dont know. So the game requires a ball or a small if you want it extremly hard. Intructions : 1. Get in a circle. 2. Spread your legs 3. Put either 1 of the arms behind you. 4. Start the game. 5. Get a ball out of someones legs and then they will be out! And the second game was an fun one this time. The name of the game is "10 down". Game requires any ball. This is an team game. You have to put the ball on the ground and don't stop holding it then throw it to your team and they do the same game thing! When your team gets the 10 touch downs you win. Thats all I think we played in kiwi can.

This week I did my daily 6 and I did hand writings first then I do my other other daily 6's. This is an easy task due to its really easy and you just copy but dont copy and paste you have to write it cause then it will be CHEATING!

Recount writing

LI - To edit or fix some things from what we did the last weeks.

In writing we had to edit our recount writing so we can check what we did not do in the recount and mistakes we did. This was a easy task to do since we just had to check the whole work and find mistakes. Week 9 we did our recount writing but we have to plan, then we do our actural recount. Then week 9 we edit our work.

Mixed Problems

LI - To problem solvle

This week I learned how to solve problems by how I solved it. In this task if one person fails EVERYONE fails. The reason why everyone fails when one person fails is because they did not help him on questions, were not allowed to give them the answer. This was an hard task cause some of the question were confusing for me but this task was still fun cause when we finish we get to learn coding.

Raz-Kids (Camouflage)

Today in raz-kids I read a book called "Camouflage". This book talks about specific kinds of animals that can camouflage. This was an fun book and I suggest you to read the book from your libary or if you already an member for raz-kids you can go on this fun book.

Kiwi can post (Week 9)

Today in kiwi can our normal kiwi can teachers were not here but lucky we had some new ones to take over. We had lots of fun in the games we played with them. They did not told us the names of the game but one of the games were like simon says but the simon has to pick someone to do something, if he fails or if hes too slow then hes out of the round. The next game we played was a game that we put hooler hoops around cones by throwing or roling. This was an tricky game because almost everone was going for the most points one.

Special Effects (Raz-Kids)

This week I read a book called "SPECIAL EFFECTS". This book caught my eye because when I saw these words I was so happy that I found detail about how people make special effects in movies. This was an cool book and I suggest you to read this book cause if you don't know how and what special effects are then you should read this book! *You can maybe find this book in an libary, or you can get your free trial on raz-kids today or later!*

Recount writing

LI: To write a recount of an activity.

LI: To edit a recount of an activity.

An recount is like an orientation. But its a real story. Like writing a orientation that you went to someones house, a recount has to be real.

What I learned - I learned some meanings of what an recount is and how it is used

How I learned - We have to go in a group of three first and find clues, pieces to get an secret phase by going outside and finding papers with clues and pieces. Our secret phase was "Mr. Wong thinks star wars is awesome." It would be obvious if he told us.

Summarising

LI - To explain in fewer words what the text is about.

This was an easy task, finding words was a little hard. I have learned new words such as debate. We did this in the "Votes for women" task. We still have 1 more week till this reading task finishes! When we finish our time finding 20 words. We have to choose the 6 most important words to write some sentences.
