Kiwi Can

This week in Kiwi Can we learned a valueble lesson, our topic was "Self-Management" or something else I think. We played some games about the topic. I forgot the names of the games cause I have short memory. The games were so fun. One of the games has patience and it can make you flench your hands! This is all I know from kiwi can so bye!

Kiwi Sport



This week in Kiwi Sport we learned how to sissor kick, Its really simple. We did some challange or something to see who can do the sissor kick propaly. We have to wait in a line to wait for people to finish their turn so we can have our turn. We practiced first so we can see if we can do it. Ms.Andy gave us some tips to help us do it propaly

This fun ol game would be suitable for people who don't know what subtraction is and people who think subtractions is hard, its a super easy game where you have to answer all the math questions. I would give a 10/10 to this game since its kinda fun!

What I learned - I learned about things that possums do and why they should not remain in New Zealand.
How I learned - We read a book talking about possums. They have alot of cons about possums but have 1 pro about possums, and the 1 pro about possums is their cute!

What did I learn - I learned what antonyms are and how they are used.
How did I learn - We have to find the opposite meaning of a word and highlight it orange on the bottom of the sentence. Heres an example : Hot is the opposite of cold.

Kiwi Sport

LI - To learn how to jump higher.

I learned how to jump further, by look ahead, bend your knees, and jump. This makes you jump further. I learned by listening to Ms. Andy. She is and athletic teacher with lots of strats. Before we acctully did this learning we played octopus and I was in last ones standing.

Kiwi can

In kiwi can we played a game in groups, I forgot the name but the in the game we have to get people in our group out. We get a ball and try and roll the ball out by rolling the ball between out someones legs which makes them out the game. Next game we did was sit down dodge ball. People are called to go in the middle in the circle and the people sitting out the circle roll the ball at the people at the middle which makes them out the game.

LI - To make a shape that can hold water.

  • Make a 3D shape with a different capacity from its volume.
  • Present the following before making your shape:
    • basic plan of the net (with tabs)
    • measurements needed to make your shape
    • calculations for the volume and capacity
    • schedule for completion
What I learned - I learned what a shape that can hold water would look like and why it needs to be stabled.
How I learned - We have to make a shape net and make a shape that holds water ( Capacity ) (Volume)

What I learned - I learned about the word "Hauora" and what the meaning of it is.
How I learned - We have to guess what we think where the white notes go to.

What did I learn - I learned difference between fact and opinions.

How did I learn - We have to watch movie and take out what fact and opinions there are. Identify what the main ideas are about in the movie.

Synonyms




LI : To use synonyms to make our writing more interesting.

What did I learn : I learned what synonyms and how to use synonyms.

How I learned - Replacing words with simarlar meaning to words. For example : Funny could be changed to a word Hilarious.

Unfolding Shapes


LI - To turn a 3D shape into a unfolded shape.

I learned how to make unfolded shapes. (Nets) The maths book your looking at has unfolded shapes, the cube would be your starter when you start unfolding shapes. TIP - Unfolding a shape with no ruler would be a little hard. - TIP

Fact or Opinion



LI - To separate fact from Opinion
What I learned - I learned what opinions would have to and facts are sopposed to have to be a real fact.
How I learned - We have to go in groups and make opinions and facts talking about the movie called lorax. This is why its not fact "Dogs are the best pets" but when someone say "Cats are the best pets" that is why its an opinion.

Contractions



LI - To use an apostrophe for contractions.

This week (Week 4) we learned how to make sentences smaller by using contractions. Contractions help you write quicker and finish your writing quicker. For example I write "He would" write He'd to make it samller.

Ducks overboard

LI - To identify the main ideas in a text

I learnt some new words in the story called Ducks Overboard and new words in that story. My teacher Mr. O shared me this story to our class. We had to find the 5 w's. The class had to summarise the story called Ducks Overboard.

Keyboarding drills

LI - To learn touch typing.

I learnt how to touch type by not looking at the keyboard. I also have to copy the words on the sitting on a blank box.

2 words... 1 minute

Learning intention - To check my writing make sense.

What did I learn - I learned how that if you stop sometimes in a 1 minute writing test you would normally get less then 30 words.

How did I learn - We have to write in 1 minute to write about the word you chose to write about. When our 1 minute finishes we have to proof read our writing then we had to do a partner race.

"An" and "A"

Learning intention - LI: To use “an” in front of words beginning with a vowel sound (a, e, i, o, u)

LI: To use “a” in front of words beginning with consonant sounds (the opposite of vowel sounds).
What did I learn - I learned how to use an and a. An is for the vowels sounds. A is for the consonant sounds.

How did I learn - I have to make a doc and copy and paste the work on our LS1 website and on our group slides.


  • Put “a” or “an” in front of the words.
    • Mere had an egg and a banana for breakfast.
    • Gran bought me a chocolate and an ice-cream.
    • We have an orange and a lemon tree in our garden.
    • an octopus is bigger than a crab.
    • It took me a hour to draw a picture of a horse.
    • It is an honour to work with such a great man.

Let me tell you something about assemblies at PBS.

When ever assemblies are about to start we put our shoes on and line up outside the class and walk to
                                                                    quitely walk in
the hall, when were at the hall door we shut our mouths and walk in then sit on the floor or chair.

When we hear a bell we stood up and we see the principal with 2 students with big wide eyes looking at people.


LI - To think about how I can word/phrase my ideas so they are clear.

What did I learn - I learned some history in NZ from a website called “The New Zealand Parliament.”
